Chili-Lime Air Fryer Mango Bites – Sweet & Zesty in 10 Minutes

Chili-lime air fryer mango bites were one of those recipes I thought would be effortless, until my first batch turned mushy with no caramelization. I wanted that balance of sweet, tangy, and a little heat with lightly crisp edges. After testing this three ways, I discovered that drying the mango and using higher heat made all the difference. Then I cracked the code by adding the seasoning at the right stage. I finally landed on a method that gives juicy centers with bold, slightly crisp edges every time.

  • Tongs

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe mangoes peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika optional for color

Instructions

  • Pat mango chunks dry with paper towels.
  • In a bowl, toss mango with lime juice and honey.
  • Preheat air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
  • Place mango pieces in a single layer in the basket.
  • Air fry for 4 minutes.
  • Flip mango pieces using tongs.

Notes

  • Air fryer models vary—check at 6 minutes to avoid over-softening.
  • Use firm-ripe mangoes to maintain structure.

  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 1 day.
  • Add Tajín or cayenne for extra heat variation.
