Protein Cookie Dough Balls – No-Bake High-Protein Treat in 10 Minutes

Protein cookie dough balls started as one of those snack experiments when I wanted something sweet but still filling. My first batch tasted good but the texture was dry and crumbly. After testing this three ways, I discovered that adding just enough nut butter helped bind everything without making it greasy. The first few attempts were close, but the balance of protein powder and oats finally solved the texture issue. I finally landed on soft, chewy cookie dough bites that taste like dessert but work perfectly as a quick snack.

  • 2 tablespoons milk any type
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Add rolled oats to a mixing bowl.
  • Add protein powder to the bowl.
  • Stir the dry ingredients together.
  • Add peanut butter to the mixture.
  • Add maple syrup or honey.
  • Pour in the milk.

  • Roll each portion into a ball using your hands.
  • Place the balls on a plate or baking sheet.

Notes

  • Different protein powders absorb liquid differently. Add an extra tablespoon of milk if the dough feels dry.
  • Chill the dough for 10–15 minutes before rolling if it feels sticky.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Freeze for up to 2 months and thaw before eating.
  • Swap peanut butter for sunflower seed butter for a nut-free option.
