Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken breast cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • Oil spray
  • For the sauce:
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3 minutes.
  • Dip chicken pieces into beaten eggs.
  • Coat each piece evenly in cornstarch.
  • Lightly spray coated chicken with oil.
  • Place chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Cook at 380°F (193°C) for 8 minutes.
  • Flip each piece using tongs.
  • Cook for another 4–6 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
  • Heat over medium until slightly bubbling.
  • Add cornstarch slurry and stir until thickened into a glossy sauce.
  • Toss cooked chicken lightly in the sauce just before serving.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top before serving.

Notes

Air fryer models vary, so start checking around 10 minutes to avoid overcooking. Avoid overcrowding to maintain crispiness, cook in batches if needed. For best texture, toss the chicken in sauce right before serving. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for 4–5 minutes. You can swap honey for maple syrup or use chicken thighs for a juicier result.
