Air Fryer Peanut Butter Blossoms – Soft & Chocolatey in 8 Minutes

Air fryer peanut butter blossoms quickly became a favorite after my first batch didn’t quite hit that soft, classic texture, the cookies were too firm and the chocolate didn’t melt just right. I wanted that signature soft peanut butter base with a perfectly set chocolate center. After testing this three ways, I discovered that slightly underbaking and adding the chocolate immediately made all the difference. Then I cracked the code with a quick rest time. Now they come out soft, chewy, and perfectly balanced every time.

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp extra sugar for rolling
  • 12 chocolate kiss candies unwrapped

  • In another bowl, mix peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until dough forms.
  • Chill dough for 10 minutes to help prevent spreading.
  • Scoop dough into small balls.
  • Roll each ball in granulated sugar.
  • Preheat air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
  • Line basket with parchment paper.
  • Place dough balls in basket with space between them.

  • Immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
  • Let cookies rest for 3–5 minutes to set before serving.

Notes

  • Air fryer models vary, so check cookies at 6 minutes.
  • Cookies will look soft—this is key for a chewy texture.
  • Add chocolate immediately so it melts slightly without losing shape.
  • Do not overcrowd; bake in batches for even cooking.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat at 300°F (149°C) for 2 minutes for fresh texture.
  • Try dark chocolate or mini peanut butter cups for variation.
