Air Fryer Jerk Chicken – Spicy & Juicy in 15 Minutes

Air fryer jerk chicken became my answer to craving bold Caribbean flavors without firing up a grill. My first attempt tasted flat and lacked that signature kick. After testing this three ways, I discovered that letting the marinade sit longer and using a slightly higher heat brought out the spices. Then I cracked the code by balancing heat with a touch of sweetness, and now it comes out juicy, smoky-spiced, and full of flavor every time.

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (199°C) for 3 minutes.
  • Place chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook at 390°F (199°C) for 8 minutes.
  • Flip the chicken using tongs.

Notes

Air fryer models vary, so check at the 12-minute mark to avoid overcooking. Avoid overcrowding—cook in batches for even browning. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for 4–5 minutes. You can adjust cayenne for spice level or add a splash of soy sauce for deeper flavor. Serve with rice, grilled vegetables, or flatbread.
