Air Fryer Ham and Cheese Breakfast Pockets – Crispy & Melty in 10 Minutes

Air fryer ham and cheese breakfast pockets came from one of those mornings when I wanted something warm and savory but didn’t want to cook a full breakfast. My first batch tasted good but the dough opened during cooking and the cheese leaked out. After testing this three ways, I discovered that sealing the edges tightly and lightly brushing the tops with butter made all the difference. The first few attempts were close, but adjusting the air fryer temperature finally gave me crisp, golden pockets with perfectly melty cheese inside.

  • Rolling Pin
  • Knife or pizza cutter
  • Pastry brush

  • 1 sheet refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 4 slices deli ham
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for 3 minutes.
  • Roll out the crescent dough on a clean surface.
  • Cut the dough into four rectangles.
  • Place one slice of ham on each dough piece.
  • Add a slice of cheese on top of the ham.
  • Fold the dough over the filling to form a pocket.
  • Press the edges firmly with a fork to seal.
  • Brush the tops lightly with melted butter.
  • Sprinkle garlic powder and black pepper over the pockets.
  • Place the pockets in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Cook at 360°F (182°C) for 8–10 minutes.
  • Look for golden brown crust and melted cheese inside.
  • Remove the pockets carefully and let rest for 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

  • Avoid overfilling the pockets to prevent the dough from opening during cooking.
  • Air fryer models vary; check for golden color around the 8-minute mark.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the air fryer at 320°F (160°C) for 3–4 minutes to crisp again.
  • Try swapping cheddar for Swiss, mozzarella, or pepper jack for different flavors.
